Human Services Campus Inc is Hiring a Client Engagement Specialist - Mailroom Near Phoenix, AZ

Summary

The Engagement Specialist reports directly to the Supportive Services Supervisor/ Manager. This position will provide direct service to individuals whom utilize the Human Services Campus mail room by way of purposeful engagement to provide needed service and seek specifically to connect individuals experiencing homelessness with permanent housing, physical and mental health services, and other necessary resources to assist in ending their homelessness.

What You Will Do To End Homelessness

As a mailroom client engagement specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing incoming and outgoing mail within the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include sorting, distributing, and processing mail efficiently. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the mailroom area.
  • Mail Sorting and Distribution:
    • Receive and sort incoming mail, packages, and deliveries.
    • Distribute mail to appropriate departments or individuals based on established procedures.
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of mail to designated recipients.
  • Mail Processing:
    • Operate mail processing equipment, such as postage meters and mail folding machines.
    • Prepare outgoing mail, including affixing postage, sealing envelopes, and ensuring proper addressing.
    • Coordinate with courier services for outgoing shipments.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail.
    • Track and log packages and important documents.
    • Assist in maintaining inventory of mailroom supplies.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide courteous and helpful assistance to employees inquiring about mail and packages.
    • Notify recipients of the arrival of packages or important mail.
    • Handle inquiries and redirect misaddressed mail as needed.
  • Security and Confidentiality:
    • Adhere to security protocols to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive mail.
    • Verify the identity of individuals picking up mail or packages.
  • Mailroom Organization:
    • Keep the mailroom area organized, clean, and free from clutter.
    • Ensure proper disposal of recyclables and waste.

  • Engage clients with a welcoming and positive attitude
  • Update resources regularly to ensure accurate information distribution
  • Apply critical thinking in finding quick solutions to individual homelessness
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of 1 year relevant employment experience preferred, knowledge of homeless resources and the ability to work with individuals with diverse needs.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally, work as a team player and at times, independently; the ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and maintain a calm demeanor in high stress situations.
  • Must demonstrate personal responsibility and integrity; show initiative and an ability to work independently; with a sensitivity to cultural diversity, lifestyle understanding is essential.
  • Written and verbal communication skills (Spanish a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, clients, and other external contacts.
  • Ability to handle sensitive material, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and displaying sound judgment.
  • Valid Driver License/Clean 3 year MVR
  • Mobility sufficient to conduct regular duties within a normal office environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds in order to safely manage office supplies and equipment.
