Position Reports To: Vice President, Relationship Manager, Retirement Plan Consulting
Overview:
HORAN Wealth seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our on-site team as a Retirement Plan Relationship Manager. This role is crucial in maintaining and nurturing strong relationships with our retirement plan clients, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations exceeded. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the retirement plan industry, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for providing proactive client service.
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned retirement plan clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients through regular communication and proactive outreach.
  • Determine clients’ needs, objectives, and challenges to provide tailored solutions and support.
Consultative Support:
  • Provide expert guidance and fiduciary support to clients on various retirement plan topics, including plan design, compliance, investment options, and participant education.
  • Conduct regular plan reviews and consultations to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Account Management:
  • Monitor client accounts and activities, proactively addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • On occasion, assist with the onboarding of new clients, ensuring a smooth transition to HORAN Wealth’s co-fiduciary and fiduciary investment services.
  • Collaborate internally with peers, sales, operations, and compliance, to ensure client needs are met effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate externally with client service providers including recordkeepers, third party administrators, and accounting firms.
Education and Training:
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients at both the participant and plan sponsor level, educating on retirement plan features, regulations, and best practices.
  • Keep clients informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and other relevant developments.
Retention and Growth:
  • Develop and implement strategies to retain existing clients and enhance their satisfaction with our services.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce internal partners to clients who may have additional planning, consulting, or wealth management needs.
Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in finance, business administration, or similarly related field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the retirement plan industry, with a focus on exceeding client needs.
  • Strong understanding of retirement plan products, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possesses appropriate FINRA licenses (e.g., Series 63 and 65 or Series 66)
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AIF, CPFA, etc.) a plus.
