Grateful Heart Veterinary Hospital is Hiring a Front Desk Lead/Manager Receptionist Near Portland, OR

Grateful Heart Veterinary Hospital, is a state-of-the-art,independant woman owned Veterinary clinic located in the bustling Eliot neighborhood on North Vancouver Ave. We are seeking a friendly and organized Lead/ Manager Veterinary Receptionist to join and manage our animal care team. In this administrative role, you answer phones, check in our animal patients, update their records and owner information, schedule appointments, process payments and assist our medical team on an as-needed basis with simple tasks. Excellent customer service, strong attendance history, experience with animals in a clinic environment and computer skills are required. ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED IN MANAGEMENT AND ADMINSTRATION FOR THE LEAD/MANAGER POSITION
Veterinary Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Check-in animal patients.
  • Answer phones.
  • Gather and certify pet and owner information.
  • Maintain records.
  • Document client communications.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Process payments.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and provide support to our medical team as needed. 
  • Perform cleaning tasks as required. 
  • Lift 50 lbs., when needed.
VeterinaryLead Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. College or some college a plus.
  • Experience in a veterinary setting. (At least one year). Volunteer experience will be considered.
  • Dependable and punctual. 
  • Experience with Ezyvet is a plus.
  • Customer service skills and experience.
  • Basic math skills and computer literacy.
  • Able to work at a fast pace.
  • Comfortable working with animals.
  • Able to manage a team of three to four staff memebers.
  •  Ensure the safety of clients, pets and their colleagues.
  •  Ensure shifts/staff covered when absences occur.
  • Handle customer complaints, compliments, questions and concerns if escalated beyond staff capabilities by
    phone or in person. Direct these complaints to the Practice Manager and/or Medical Director as needed.
  • Strong attedndance track record. Willing to come in early or stay late, as needed. (this is not often)
  • Be supportive, positive, and encouraging with staff, clients and coworkers to create a professional work
    environment
