Coal Seam Distributing LLC is Hiring a District Sales Manager (Grand Junction Territory) Near Castle, CO

Purpose:

The District Sales Manager is responsible for increasing sales revenue and profits while maintaining a positive customer relationship in the assigned and specific geographical area. This position is responsible for supporting assigned accounts and brand presence throughout area.

Essential Functions and Skills:

  • Required travel throughout territory
  • Provide training and support to Account Sales Managers (ASMs), Merchandising, and Delivery Staff
  • Assist ASMs in building and maintaining route and customer accounts
  • Plan, direct, and assist ASMs by providing feedback during scheduled work-withs, at a minimum, 2 days per month
  • Identify customer opportunities; develop targets, and ensure goals are met.
  • Provide ASMs with monthly sales performance updates by customer, provide feedback
  • Communicate and follow-up regularly with all staff in assigned territory, including weekly wins and opportunities, promotions, sales goals, et al.
  • Review sales routing with ASMs and support staff semi-annually, or as needed; including seasonal adjustments
  • Manage schedules and coverage throughout territory ensuring customer service levels are met
  • Integrate and align sales plans within territory
  • Ensures sales goals and profitability are met; along with ensuring pricing accuracy
  • Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively
  • Prepare or distribute signage, literature or other presentations of information about company and products or services
  • Meet regularly (minimum quarterly) with existing customers and prospects in sales territory to understand their evolving needs and position product solutions to meet needs
  • Identify, investigate, track and resolve customer concerns; suggest and implement solutions to alleviate concerns
  • Maintain knowledge levels of products, sales techniques, promotions, and services offered through continuous training and development
  • Ensure product inventory levels are current to needs of customer; order as needed
  • Verify accuracy of load deliveries by visually matching pallet labels with store location per customer
  • Verify and maintain quality/quantity of products by rotating products, checking code dates for freshness; replenishing product with back stock
  • Ensure proper and timely refund and return procedures are followed
  • Perform store audits on a monthly basis, at a minimum
  • New product management and integration
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of equipment (coolers, point-of-sale, etc.)
  • Analyze and distribute depletion reporting on monthly basis, at a minimum
  • Ensure all processes of inventory and order management standards are followed for assigned accounts (expert)
  • Manage relationship with supplier reps, as needed, for assigned brands
  • Maintain cooperative working relationship with customers, community, and other persons within the Company
  • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times by communicating with store management; personnel, as well as the general public
  • Adhere to customer policies and procedures in compliance with workplace, health, and safety standards
  • Interview potential employees within territory and provide hiring input and decisions, as needed.
  • Provide employment recommendation, as needed.
  • Provide feedback and guidance on performance to support staff.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Other General Duties:

  • Operate electronic equipment (i.e. cell phone or other device) to ensure proper communication and time-keeping procedures
  • Monitor and report competitor activity to Supervisor to maintain market awareness
  • Identify and report any Company issues or processes needing improvement
  • Ensure all standards of conduct are met in accordance with Company Guidelines as found in the Employee Handbook
  • Report any unsafe workplace practices or accidents immediately to supervisor
  • Maintain confidentiality of Company Information
  • Demonstrate effective time management strategies
  • Notify supervisor of any repairs needed in a timely manner
  • Follow product breakage procedures to ensure minimal loss to Company
  • Use sound judgment and seek guidance and direction as necessary from supervisor.

Education:

High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalence Certificate

Experience:

Prior experience in Sales and Marketing

Team Management and Territory experience preferred

Other Requirements:

Must pass background check and motor vehicle checks, as required.

Must have proper authorization to work in the United States.

Must be able to demonstrate solid communication and organizational skills

Physical Requirements/Workplace Conditions:

This position requires frequent bending and twisting the body, keeping or regaining balance, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling and repetitive motions. This position also requires frequent time walking or standing, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. This position requires frequent lifting, pushing or pulling up to 60 lbs. The position requires basic skills such as full vision capabilities, the ability to actively listen/hear, read/comprehend, communicate orally and reason or analyze on a constant basis and to perform calculations frequently.

This position also requires social skills such as, coordination efforts, team efforts, perceptiveness to others, using sound judgment, and willingness to help others. Work is performed in multiple locations where indoor and outdoor environmental conditions will vary. Work may also be performed using technology and powered equipment, including motorized vehicles.
