City of Sherwood AR is Hiring an ASSISTANT AQUATICS COORDINATOR Near Sherwood, AR

Performs administrative, supervisory, and professional work in the operation and maintenance of aquatics facilities and programs under direct supervision of aquatics coordinator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises part-time and/or seasonal employees.
  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Collects attendance, accident, and routine accounting reports for aquatic facilities.
  • Assists in coordinating staff in the development and implementation of aquatics programs.
  • Teaches and supervises aquatic classes, workshops and activities for people engaged in aquatics programs.
  • Assists in overseeing the maintenance of the indoor and outdoor swimming pool.
  • Ability to work successfully in extreme heat and excessive humidity; slippery and uneven walking surfaces, excessive noise, and other extreme conditions such as noxious fumes, equipment, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements and preferences listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required and/or preferred. Broad knowledge of such fields as aquatics, parks and rec, etc. A four-year college degree is preferred, and/or 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Considerable knowledge of recreation philosophy, planning and administration and considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations, and techniques used in a comprehensive community recreation program. Additional Skills • Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. • First Aid and CPR certification • Minimum graduation from a high school or GED equivalent; a four-year college or university with a degree in recreation or a closely related field preferred, but not required. • Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in a community recreation program. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the public. • Ability to maintain accurate records, type and enter data accurately. • Ability to effectively communicate with aquatics coordinator on a one-on-one basis with others. • Ability to maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with other employees, department officials and the public. • Ability to report to work each scheduled day, and on time.
