Job Overview:
The Development team at ChildSavers is seeking seasonal experienced Grant Writer to join our team on a hybrid basis. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other grant-making organizations to secure funding for our ongoing programs and initiatives. The successful candidate will have grants management experience, excellent writing skills, a strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising strategies, and the ability to communicate our organization's mission and impact effectively to potential funders. The position also includes content writing for our Annual Report and in-person support for outreach events, as needed.
This position will require about 15-20 hours of work per week (60-80 hours per month). This position is temporary and the last day of employment will be August 31, 2024.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Manages a small portfolio of grant-making funders with application and reporting deadlines between May 1, 2024 and August 31, 2024;
  • Collaborates with program staff to gather information and data necessary for grant proposals;
  • Writes compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry/intent, and other communications to solicit funding from grant-making organizations;
  • Writes narrative content and compiles data for key grant reports;
  • Ensures that all grant proposals are submitted on time and meet the requirements and guidelines of each funding opportunity;
  • Maintains accurate records of grant submissions, deadlines, and outcomes in our CRM, Salesforce.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • 3 years relevant work or volunteer experience in direct fundraising and grants management;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Knowledge of fundraising and development best practices;
  • Strong research, analytical, and written communication skills are essential;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Organized with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
