Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate primary care physician to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, focusing on preventive care, health promotion, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. Essential Functions

- Conduct thorough medical evaluations, including patient history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing as necessary.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, incorporating evidence-based medicine and best practices.
- Provide ongoing primary care services, including preventive care, health maintenance, and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
- Coordinate care with specialists, allied health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.
- Collaborate with Advanced Practice Professionals
- Educate patients and their families about health promotion, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including electronic health records (EHR), in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
- Stay current with advances in primary care medicine through continuing medical education (CME) activities and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in interdisciplinary team meetings and participate in peer review activities.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and respect for patients' cultural, social, and personal beliefs.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- As assigned by supervisor: would consist of clinical oversight of clinic staff to include; Advanced Practice Practitioners, Medical Assistants and/or nurses.
Physical demands
- Ability to perform various motor skills such as; standing for long periods of time, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds) using proper lifting techniques, stair climbing, reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, grasping and arm-hand coordination on a continuous basis.
Travel required
- Travel to Hospital or other facilities as needed.
Required education and experience
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training in primary care specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics).
- Board eligibility or certification in primary care specialty from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Excellent clinical skills and ability to provide compassionate patient-centered care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
- BLS*
- ACLS*
- PALS (if seeing patients under age 12)*
- Active license issued by the West Virginia Boad of Medicine or West Virginia Board of Osteopathic Medicine to practice as a physician.
* Will provide training if needed
Preferred education and experience
- Experience as a practicing physician in a rural primary care practice
