Position Summary

Atlas Disposal is a leading waste management company committed to promoting sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. We are proud to be partnering with the City of Rancho Cordova as their new residential service provider. The Sustainability Coordinator will collaborate with local schools, community organizations, and homeowners to develop and implement recycling and waste reduction programs.

Work Environment and Expectations

• This is a full time in office position.
• Typical schedule is Monday Friday, 8am-5pm. Will work some evenings and weekends for special events and programs.
• Travel within the community will be required.
• Salary is $65,000 per year.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in waste management, environmental education, or community outreach.
• Willingness to work outside of standard business hours at both outdoor and indoor events
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Passion for sustainability and waste reduction.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
• Experience working with schools and community events.
• Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize educational workshops, presentations, and events.
• Engage with students and community members to promote recycling initiatives and raise awareness about waste reduction.
• Create and distribute educational materials.
• Monitor recycling participation rates and track program effectiveness.
• Provide guidance on proper recycling procedures and waste diversion strategies.
