eventbase is Hiring a Remote Head of Finance (Remote, Canada)

Eventbase is a Canada-based software company, and the leading mobile event technology platform for global brands, powering enterprise event apps for many of the biggest conferences in the world. We are seeking a hands-on, dynamic, strategic, and operationally focused Head of Finance (Vice President, Finance or Chief Financial Officer) to lead our team of two Accounting professionals, supporting a team of ~100 Eventbasers. The role is 50% hands on execution and 50% strategic partner, plays an active part on the Executive team, and will report directly to the CEO. While strategic, this position involves a lot of heavy lifting and a necessary hands on approach to guide us through the next phase of our evolution.

This is a full-time remote position based anywhere in Canada. We are open to either a VP, Finance or CFO title based on experience. Please note that we can only consider candidates who reside in Canada with valid working status.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with our CEO, Executive team, and board of directors to develop and execute on the company’s vision and strategy
  • Engage all members of the Executive team to align company management with short and long term financial planning and projections, while educating on financial-data driven based decision making
  • Oversee the company’s operating model and financial forecasts
  • Develop and implement high-level financial and operational plans and processes to drive growth
  • Lead the process for fundraising and mergers & acquisitions
  • Achieve key financial targets and metrics through the development and implementation of proactive dashboards, ongoing reporting, measurements, and variance analysis
  • Lead the company’s Finance and Accounting team, and oversee a small team working on monthly close, quarterly / annual financial reports and other activities including accounting, payroll, internal controls, financial systems, audit, treasury, insurance, and tax
  • Attend Board meetings and own the financial information traffic between Eventbase and our board of directors including preparation and investor communication
  • Oversee our annual financial audit
  • Work closely with our People team on compensation and Stock Option Plan administration
What You Bring
  • Fast and flexible learner and proven team leader
  • Operationally oriented, senior level finance professional and strategic thinker with a strong entrepreneurial drive and track-record of successfully scaling a B2B software, SaaS or technology company
  • CPA (CA or CGA) highly desired with minimum eight years post designation experience
  • Experience working with global enterprises including Fortune 1000 customers
  • Experience with venture capital fundraising process, private equity firms, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Expert in Google Sheets and Excel 
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and relationship building skills
  • Nice to have: domain expertise in the events or martech industry
  • Experienced with high growth and highly demanding, deadline driven environments

$170,000 - $210,000 a year
The salary for this position is $170k-$210k and varies based on if your experience best aligns with a VP, Finance or CFO level, commensurate with your job-related knowledge and education, skills, and experience. Our salary ranges are based on market data factoring location, company size, and industry, ensuring competitive compensation.
