Objectives of this role

• Oversee all day-to-day activities of the accounting and finance department
• Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
• Assist management with budget forecasting and analysis of actual results
• Manage payroll process and maintain proper recordkeeping
• Help with development and support of short- and long-term operational strategies

Responsibilities

• Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, expenses, organizational budgets and actual expenditures
• Establish (in coordination with management) financial and operating budgets and track actual results against those budgets
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
• Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity

Required skills and qualifications

• Five or more years of professional accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial data analysis
• Working knowledge of basic tax regulations and compliance reporting
• Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes
• History of financial project management

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
• Three or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
• Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant)
