Madison Public Schools has partnered with Education Management & Staffing Solutions (ESS) to manage our substitute stafffing program. A leader in K-12 staffing, ESS is now responsible for the hiring, training, and placement of all substitutes including teachers, teacher assistants, secretaries, custodians, and nurses.

General Information: Substitute Custodian

Under the direction of the Lead Custodian, the Substitute Custodian will:

* Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times.

* Checks to insure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.

* Sweeps, and mops classrooms and dusts furniture.

* Cleans corridors.

* Daily cleans and disinfects toilet floors, all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains.

* Keeps the grounds free from rubbish

* Keeps all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
