HOERBIGER Corporation of America (HCA) is growing the CAD Design team for our manufacturing plant in Pompano Beach, FL. Our CAD Designers are immersed in a fast-paced Engineer-to-Order environment often requiring creative designs to solve complex design problems. Frequent coordination and communication with product engineers as well as manufacturing personnel is essential to solving problems, improving processes, and completing projects on time.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive experience preparing and developing clear, complete, and accurate designs and related specifications for high precision products and components. Experience in the reciprocating compressor industry is preferred.

Position is full-time, regularly scheduled weekdays. Work location is on site.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
• Create Production ready drawings and supporting 3D solid models while also; checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
• Ensure product design standards are adhered to by following published internal Standards as well as common international standards, such as ISO or ANSI.
• Modify product designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
• Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, manufacturing materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Maintain and support the use of ERP system by ensuring complete and accurate Bills of Materials, Documents, and Material classification
• Maintain and support the use of global PDM system to ensure accurate product data is available worldwide

• Contribute to local design documentation by updating and creating new content in Wiki Pages

• Required experience or education as follows
• An AA/AS or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school with Design/Mechanical Drafting focus
• Or Technical or vocation program completion with focus in mechanical design and drafting
• Or 2 years mechanical design experience
• Recent experience designing high precision products and machinery components; experience in Reciprocating Compressor design preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret standard Engineering drawings in Imperial and Metric units
• Must be able to create multi-view drawings with Dimension and tolerancing in accordance with modern design practice and standards
• Must have experience with 3D modeling software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or Creo
• Basic Knowledge of modern Machine tool capability and process, such as Milling Machines and Lathes
• Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; participate in group problem solving situations
• Previous Experience working within ERP systems such as SAP helpful
