As the Vice President, Product Line Management ("VP PLM"), you will lead Gigamon's product managers to set product strategy, define the product roadmap, and drive successful execution in bringing innovative and customer-delighting products to market. You will define the specific products and solutions that make our mission real: "To empower organizations with hybrid cloud network-derived intelligence and insights, to run fast, stay secure, and accelerate innovation."
Product Line Management guides the work of Gigamon's ~400 person Global R&D organization, and is the foundation for a successful Go-to-Market.
What you will will do:
  • Strategic Product Leadership: Develop and articulate a comprehensive product strategy for Gigamon product lines, aligned with company goals and market trends. Collaborate with R&D leaders and Product peers to define and execute the product roadmap.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from idea to concept to New Product Introduction (NPI) to end-of-life decisions, ensuring that products meet market demands, customer expectations, and financial targets. Drive development of innovative features and capabilities, maintaining and extending market leadership in our chosen categories.
  • Market Analysis & Customer Intimacy: Research and validate a thorough view of technology trends, customer needs, and "coopetition" landscape that impact - or could impact - Gigamon. Define unique value propositions for new products and solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support company goals through close collaboration with R&D/Engineering, Sales and Pre-Sales, Services & Customer Success, Operations, and Marketing. Ensure effective product development with both innovation and quality, product success in the market, and world-class customer experience at all touchpoints.
  • Business Product Leadership: Achieve revenue and profit goals through NPIs, pricing, product positioning, and go-to-market plans. Monitor the business through both financial and operational metrics, always identifying opportunities for improvement.

What you have done:
  • Experience as a product management leader and executive who has implemented product management best practices in previous organizations
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent. MBA preferred.
  • Possess a deep understanding of large Enterprise IT and Security decision-making and technology adoption. Ideally, have built products for Fortune 100 and large government organizations
  • Familiarity with one or both of Cybersecurity and/or Networking domains. Ideally, possess domain expertise in the infrastructure that underlies a robust cybersecurity program
  • Familiarity with Hybrid Cloud infrastructure. Ideally, possess domain expertise in how large organizations secure and monitor across Public Cloud, Private Cloud, and On-Premises infrastructure
  • Effective communicator across diverse audiences and contexts, from CISOs to network operators to R&D engineers to sales leaders
  • Strong presentation skills, especially articulating a clear business case that works backwards from the customer and market
  • Able to influence across groups and reporting lines, bringing people together to focus on a common mission
  • Exemplar of the attributes of our One Gigamon culture including Collaboration, Innovation, Trust, Employees First, and Authenticity

Organization
Direct report to Chief Product Officer, and a peer to the VP Product & Solutions Marketing, VP Ecosystem, & Alliances, and Chief Technology Office.
Central to this broad cross-functional role is special focus on three critical relationships:
  1. R&D/Engineering: Classic "influence without authority" role to define the roadmap and guide execution to delight our customers while achieving company goals
  2. SE/Pre-Sales: Intimacy with the technical pre-sales community, to learn and synthesize market trends and customer requirements with deep insight backed up by customer examples
  3. Operations: Actively drive operational excellence in partnership with Sales Operations, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, Support & Services, and more.
The base salary compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon's Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office is $285,000 - $315,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company's compensation practices.
Employees in this position are eligible to participate in the Company's standard employee benefit programs, which may include health and other insurances such as life and disability, and savings accounts such as a retirement plan with company matching contributions or similar, paid time off (holidays, vacation, and sick), tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program (EAP), business travel accident insurance, employee discounts, and employee referral program. Additionally, employees may be eligible to participate in the Profit Interest Units plan.
