Travis Pointe Country Club, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for Food and Beverage Servers. Built in 1977, Travis Pointe is one of the state's elite private clubs, featuring four season amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, 4 indoor courts and outdoor large tennis complex, aquatics facility, indoor golf simulators, and a fitness center.
Travis Pointe has hosted the LPGA Volvik Championship, as well as numerous tournaments throughout the years, including the EPSON Tour, the Michigan Amateur Championship, the Women's Western Amateur, the Women's Michigan Open, US Mid-Amateur qualifying, and numerous US Open and US Senior Open qualifiers.
Responsibilities of the Food and Beverage Server at Travis Pointe Country Club include:
Utilizes the point of sales system and places orders with the kitchen.
Fills beverages, mentions daily specials, and answers any questions a guest may have.
Suggests desserts, coffee, or after-dinner drinks.
Attends all pre-meal meetings conducted by the Food and Beverage Manager or Executive Chef.
Advises supervisor of any member complaints.
Is responsible for cash handling and the accuracy of receipts at day's end.
Incorporates safe work practices and safe food handling standards.
Completes side-work.
Understands the basics of theft, waste, and pricing of food and beverage inventory items.
Food and Beverage Servers at Travis Pointe Country Club receive free meals for each shift worked, great on the job training, and opportunities to work and grow into more lucrative positions such as bartending or supervisory positions. Pay is the hourly wage plus service fees.
Required Skills
Two years previous experience in a full service restaurant
The ability to sell (and upsell) food and beverage to guests by being cordial, helpful, and sincere.
Strong multi-tasking skills.
Knowledge of mixology, wine, and beer.
Ability to enforce company policies and laws and regulations regarding guest/member consumption of alcohol.
Evaluation of customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
