Hayes Day School is Hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant Near Millbrook, NY
As the Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for providing physical therapy treatment for students ranging in age from 5-21 years, with multiple developmental and physical disabilities. The school operates on a 10-month school calendar plus a six-week summer session (FT 32.5 hours per week).
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
- Current NYS Certified Physical Therapy Assistant
- At least two (2) years of experience providing physical therapy under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist is desired
- Experience working with individuals with severe physical/developmental disabilities is preferred
- NYS driver’s license is preferred
- Basic computer skills and ability to speak, read, and write in English

- Provide services in a flexible manner either pulling students out or pushing into classroom activities depending on the unique needs of each student as well as the classroom
- Provide use of adaptive equipment
- Collaborate with all team members to consider physical, medical, sensory, vision, communication and behavioral needs of each student
- Attend classroom team meetings, CSE meetings and residential meetings
- Complete written work as required
- Provide input to the Physical Therapists while they evaluate annual and triennial re-evaluations as needed
Pay: $24.84 - $32.60 / hour, based on experience
