COMPUTATIONAL RESEARCH SCIENTIST 1, Center for Biomedical Innovation (CBI), to join a groundbreaking project at the intersection of single-cell analysis and biologics manufacturing. The work will be pivotal in determining the extent to which cellular biophysical characteristics can predict key quality attributes of viral and protein products. The outcomes could lead to transformative improvements in production efficiencies, offering new insights into biomanufacturing processes. Responsibilities include designing and developing real-time data acquisition hardware to monitor single-cell biophysical properties; constructing and validating computational models for data analysis and simulation of cellular dynamics; using advanced computational techniques such as machine learning and statistical modeling to predict the properties of cellular products from biophysical data and aiming to boost production efficiency; analyzing large datasets to discern patterns and relationships in cellular biophysical properties; developing predictive models to estimate the outcomes of cellular engineering processes; collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to integrate data science with biophysical research; and performing other duties as assigned. May contribute to the preparation of research narratives for grant proposals, train others on routine techniques and methods, and guide/direct graduate students.
