Job Summary

The System Engineer I and Tech Supervisor is responsible for testing and maintaining a development and testing server environment. The environment includes but is not limited to different MS Servers 2012 to 2022, Active directory, file server, Multi Domain replication and etc. This role performs basic server maintenance and is responsible for monitoring server security. This position includes advance desktop/laptop support, support for different business applications and mobile devices, user account setup in Active directory along with Azure Active Directory administration, general NTFS support and other IT-related tasks.

The Team Lead utilizes demonstrated troubleshooting skills on different applications with an emphasis on quick resolution thus helping to minimize end-user downtime. The Team Lead is hands-on and assists with the standardization of helpdesk services and procedures along with streamlining any discovered inefficiencies. The Team Lead also plays a key role in the continued development of the IT Helpdesk team.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Install and maintain OS (Windows 10 and 11) installation/imaging on all desktops, laptops and occasionally on Servers (Server OS 2016, 2019 and 2022). Install is not limited to manual installation; it can be scripted installation using pre built images.
• Maintain/Monitor any virus/spam related issues on the network.
• Maintain/Monitor desk phone, smart phones, desktop, laptop & mobile devices.
• Extensive knowledge about Cisco/Meraki Networking including switches/routers & firewalls.
• Monitor and maintain server overall security within the environment.
• Support development, test, and pre-production systems and other hardware.
• Monitor system and review logs from log management systems.
• Development Updates - perform tasks related to monitoring bug fixes into development & testing environment.
• Assure systems availability – support, AD and file server and NTFS permission management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Online Exchange and Azure AD.
• Must have experience of automated patch management.
• Create new GPO, DNS, DHCP scopes and understand VLANS.
• Willing to work on weekends, holidays and after hours as necessary or desirable to meet the business needs.
• Must be able to participate in regular after-hours on call support rotation.
• Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadlines.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, MIS or equivalent.
• 6 years of experience in Desktop/Laptops Advance Administration
• 3 years of experience in Servers management experience.
• 1 years of experience in different back up experience software.
• 2 years of experience in different end point protection software.
• 4 years of experience leading people.
• CCNA Certification
• MCSA windows Certification.
• Microsoft 365 Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experienced in Exchange Online and NTFS file permissions.
• Experienced in automated desktop patching.
• VMware or Nutanix Virtual Server Experience.
• Experienced in IPv4 addressing/subnetting.
• Experienced Microsoft Online Office products including Visio.
• Leadership skills to mentor, train, develop and coach tech team members.
• Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an abundance of patience.
