The Town of Southern Pines is seeking an energetic, motivated and skilled individual to become the Deputy Finance Director.
In general, this position is responsible for assisting the Finance Director in the administration of financial activities for the Town as well as performing professional and responsible supervisory work in planning, organizing and executing the accounting and utility billing/collection operations of the Town.
The successful candidate will possess a degree from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting or finance, and five years of progressively responsible experience in financial planning and management, including some supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Certified Financial Officer designation or current CPA as well as experience in a municipal or government setting are highly desirable.
Please note that the minimum pay range shown is just that - a minimum. We are looking for an experienced professional and anticipate a hiring range of $75,000 - $95,000 for such an individual. We look at every candidate individually and will make sure that your starting pay offer will be competitive based on the experience, knowledge, skills and abilities YOU bring to the table. In addition to base pay, we also offer an additional $100 per paycheck ($2,600/year) as a discretionary income supplement. You will also be eligible for an additional 2% increase upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period.
