Propulsion Mechanical Engineer (Propellers)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• In-service engineering agent for ship propeller systems
• Ship Checks to develop cost estimates in developing Proposals
• Ship Checks to develop Ship Alts and Engineering Changes for propeller system upgrades and repairs
• Technical writing to develop work items, test procedures, technical manuals, training manuals, and technical proposals.
• Provide support for R&D projects as well as production requirements.
• Work with a Production team to help quickly identify and resolve problems
• Computer Aided Design experience for drafting.
• Review of mechanical system drawings and specifications.
• Research, develop and apply advanced engineering concepts in the solution of complex manufacturing problems.
• Reviews new designs for production ability, considering cost, quality, safety, delivery, production capabilities
• Manage and prioritize multiple project timelines

Qualifications

• Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience in the Maritime Industry
• Test experience in writing test procedures and conducting test events
• Technical writing experience in developing Work Items, Technical Manuals, Training Manuals, and Proposals
• Ability to optimize, add new features and improve existing control systems.
• Experience with field upgrades and startups.
• Experience with mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Desired Characteristics :

• Familiar with maritime and Navy terminology, and have shipboard experience and a thorough knowledge of marine engineering and navigational systems
• Experience with Ships propellers.
• Shipboard propulsion, shafting and bearing experience is preferred.
