Your Role

The SAS Flight Factory (FF) is an elite team that provides precision aerospace manufacturing for mission-critical programs. As the SAS FF Production and Operations Manager, you will lead and manage a team of up to 20 machinists, programmers, assemblers, inspectors, and engineers, inspiring their success and expanding our business through client contracts and projects. You will be a member of the SAS leadership team, working directly with the C-suite and co-founders to drive results through strategic growth.

Responsibilities:

Direct all production-related activities and flow within the factory, including direct management of the Operations, Production Control, and Quality functions
Ensuring work areas comply with health, safety, and environmental standards
Adherence to all internal and external quality standards
Evaluate, manage, and motivate all direct reports by emphasizing planning, organization, preparation, follow-up, and internal communication.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the application of Lean philosophies, systems, and tools
Communicate clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability

This is a role for an operations leader who is strategic, results-driven, and collaborative, who thrives by leading in a team-based environment, where detail orientation, productivity, and drive to quality and safety are rewarded.

How You Will Be Rewarded

The annual salary for this role ranges from $110,000.00 to $180,000.00. Compensation depends on the candidate’s work experience, education/training, and related skills.

To qualify for this role, candidates need to have the following:

10 years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with increasing responsibility, including at least 5 years of direct people management
Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
Excellent understanding of ERP systems (JobBoss/ECI preferred), master scheduling, and financial management
Demonstrated results-oriented leadership style with a focus on execution and continuous improvement using data
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on innovative and creative solutions that result in early delivery and lower costs
Demonstrated experience in the application of lean manufacturing philosophy, concepts, and tools
Quality management systems experience (e.g., AS9100)
Knowledge in quoting and execution of precision machining jobs is considered a strong plus
Knowledge and experience with executing government manufacturing contracts
