Your Role
The SAS Flight Factory (FF) is an elite team that provides precision aerospace manufacturing for mission-critical programs. As the SAS FF Production and Operations Manager, you will lead and manage a team of up to 20 machinists, programmers, assemblers, inspectors, and engineers, inspiring their success and expanding our business through client contracts and projects. You will be a member of the SAS leadership team, working directly with the C-suite and co-founders to drive results through strategic growth.
Responsibilities: 
  • Direct all production-related activities and flow within the factory, including direct management of the Operations, Production Control, and Quality functions
  • Ensuring work areas comply with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Adherence to all internal and external quality standards
  • Evaluate, manage, and motivate all direct reports by emphasizing planning, organization, preparation, follow-up, and internal communication.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the application of Lean philosophies, systems, and tools
  • Communicate clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability
This is a role for an operations leader who is strategic, results-driven, and collaborative, who thrives by leading in a team-based environment, where detail orientation, productivity, and drive to quality and safety are rewarded.
How You Will Be Rewarded
The annual salary for this role ranges from $110,000.00 to $180,000.00. Compensation depends on the candidate’s work experience, education/training, and related skills.

To qualify for this role, candidates need to have the following:
  • 10 years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with increasing responsibility, including at least 5 years of direct people management
  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent understanding of ERP systems (JobBoss/ECI preferred), master scheduling, and financial management
  • Demonstrated results-oriented leadership style with a focus on execution and continuous improvement using data
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on innovative and creative solutions that result in early delivery and lower costs
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of lean manufacturing philosophy, concepts, and tools
  • Quality management systems experience (e.g., AS9100)
  • Knowledge in quoting and execution of precision machining jobs is considered a strong plus
  • Knowledge and experience with executing government manufacturing contracts
