JOB SUMMARY
Resolves field and port processing related issues by supporting CA based field and port quality engineering staff. Duties will include performing testing/inspections and data collection on production and port inventory vehicles in Charlotte MI. Performs general audits on production vehicles to ensure all applicable quality standards are met. Performs issue specific inspections and investigations of production vehicles, parts, or production processes to confirm the effectiveness of corrective actions. Prepares detailed technical reports and submits results to the Quality Assurance (QA) group in CA or Isuzu Motors Limited (IML) and meets with Isuzu Technical Center of America (ITCA) engineering staff in Plymouth, MI to support the resolution of field issues.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conducts special investigations and submits reports to CA based Field Quality engineers and/or management to support the US-SA process and product improvements. Creates and submits Technical Information Reports (TIRs) to Isuzu Motors Limited (IML).
2. Conducts audits on vehicles and production processes in Charlotte MI to ensure vehicles are built to engineering specifications and that corrective actions are effective. Creates reports and submits to CA based QA engineers and/or management. Utilizes data obtained to identify and resolve build quality issues with the Commercial Vehicle Production (CVP) and Builtmore groups.
3. Meets with vehicle engineering groups in Plymouth MI to review field case details and to collect engineering test results and information to support Field Quality Engineers in CA.
4. Evaluates and tests production vehicles or production parts to verify field complaints, develop formal written reports to support corrective actions and cost recovery actions with manufacturers or vendors.
5. Supports California-based Port Quality engineers by working to resolve assembly or component quality issues with the Port Installed Options (PIO) group.
6. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS
Pay scale for this position is between $76,302 and $95,378. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
