Pharmacy Resident - Atlantis
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the residency program director and residency preceptors, the resident performs the duties and functions of a clinical pharmacist across a variety of patient care settings. They also actively teach in the pharmacy program, including didactic and experiential courses. The resident works directly with the Residency Program Director for oversight and feedback, which is carefully managed in alignment with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accreditation standards. This position is in partnership with Atlantis Pharmacy.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Residence/Fellowship Programming
* Development of clinical expertise that supports effective and safe care of patients and their needs as evidenced by successful completion of learning experiences developed to meet the goals and objectives specified by ASHP.
* Practice in a collaborative environment as a licensed pharmacist with significant responsibility for the provision of patient care.
* Completion of a residency project (as defined by ASHP PGY1 Residency Requirements) and presentation of the project.
* Engage in teaching activities with PBAU-GSOP as assigned.
* Act as pharmacy educational resource for Atlantis Pharmacy staff and patients.
* Advance in personal and spiritual growth, as well as professional leadership, communication, and management skills.
* Maintain a residency portfolio documenting all residency experiences, including both didactic and clinical experiences and evaluations.
* Adhere to Atlantis Pharmacy Policies and Procedures.
* Participate in the Pharmacy's quality improvement projects and processes.
* Assist in development of clinical protocols, medication use evaluations, and drug monographs as appropriate on learning experiences.
* Evaluate new and current treatment options to identify effective, safe, and cost-effective therapies.
* Support the mission, vision, and values of both PBA and Atlantis Pharmacy
JOB FACTORS AND REQUIREMENTS:
* A Doctor of Pharmacy degree
* The resident must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, while relating to a wide range of professionals and non-professionals. This person must be able to establish positive professional relationships and develop mentoring relationships with students and faculty. Strong organization skills and the ability to manage highly detailed processes are important. Additionally, the resident must have a clear understanding of the faith integration mission of the school and be able to guide both students and faculty to apply a theistic worldview to daily life and professional practice.
