SUMMARY:

Manages the strategic communication workflow by planning, designing, and monitoring strategic email and text campaigns on behalf of the University. Develops and maintains strategic communication plans through Asana with an eye for aligning messaging across channels (email, text, web, social media, and other marketing pieces). Manages detailed audience data and coordinates list management with University database administrators (Jenzabar, Raiser’s Edge and occasionally Slate). Works with appropriate stakeholders on various communications campaigns to ensure graphics, copy and scheduling are approved and in line with University brand standards. Oversees other Departments email and social media accounts to ensure content falls within University guidelines and trains staff members on proper use. Proposes and implements new policies or procedures related to communications workflow. Prepares reports, manuals and documents relating to optimization of communications strategy. Other duties as assigned.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Responsible for planning, designing, scheduling & monitoring email and text communications to internal and external audiences in line with the University communications strategy
• Responsible for building strategic communication plans, including email, social media, web, text, video and print elements alongside the Director for Advancement Production
• Builds annual communications calendar and plans monthly email, social media and web content alongside marketing team members
• Responsible for managing audience data in coordination with University database administrators
• Route emails through stakeholder approval process
• Write and review email, web and social media copy
• Designs and manages email automation workflows
• Contribute to reporting on email, web and social media performance and enhancement
• Supports other University departments with email marketing subaccounts and social media accounts by training on email and social media best practices in line with University brand standards
• Traffic manages communication campaign workflows in Asana.
• Work effectively in a team environment
• Other duties as assigned

JOB FACTORS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S or B.A) from a four-year college or university is required. Major in communications, marketing, graphic design, business, or related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills are an essential element of the position.
