Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is one of Oracle’s biggest initiatives and continues to grow very rapidly. With this ever expanding data centers, OCI is seeking experienced an Electrical Engineer to support our 3rd party data center builds and bring them rapidly online.

You will be responsible for:

· Commissioning of new 3rd party sites

· Reviewing new sites and proposed fit out designs

· Ensuring striping plans are accurate, fail-over design are compliant

· Developing digitized electrical models

· Supporting supplier whitespace fit-out

· Power testing of new or upgraded data center sites

· Ensuring documentation is captured, stored, referenced and share with field engineering and operation teams.

· Supporting engineering investigations into large scale events

· Supporting field engineering teams

· Change management

Location: opening to United States that work from home. Candidate must be able to travel up to 25% of the time (currently not at that level but may at some point).

As a successful critical environment Electrical Engineer:

· Understand the design and functionality of data centers.

· Understanding management of the ongoing critical environment and implications to maintenance support for all service lines to pre-defined SLAs. This is to ensure service uptime is maintained to the highest standards and that faults are dealt with in timely manner.

· Management of incidents that impact OCI services and the proactive and timely resolution of such incidents.

· Work with design, construction, and commissioning teams to properly integrate the new electrical distribution systems to new and existing data centers

· Support and validate on-site data centers operations in relation to the electrical infrastructure.

· Be an electrical SME for on-site operations related to mission critical electrical system, operations, and functionality.

· Act as the technical authority for on-site operations related to a large-scale mission critical electrical system, design, and functionality.

· Empower operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives

· Provide engineering review and support of supplier design proposals and fit our of white space.

· Create digitized electrical maps of power distribution systems to support operational teams.

Qualifications

· BS Electrical, Industrial or Process Engineering

· 7 years of experience in defining, designing, and operating data center critical infrastructure

· Demonstrated record of innovation and influence with the data center space

· Demonstrated record of successful process definition and systems architecture

· Demonstrated record of successful infrastructure roadmap planning

· Deep understanding of data center electrical systems architecture

OCI is ideally looking for an individual with the following experience:

· Strong experience with the operation and maintenance of building electrical systems. (electrical distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, and controls systems)

· Established understanding of electrical theory and practical application via maintenance and operation of critical electrical equipment (paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.)

· Strong understanding of distributed and block redundant electrical distribution architecture

· Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (ability to interpret blueprints, electrical SLDs, mechanical SLDs and construction drawings)

· Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls, and frameworks
