Wishram School District will have an opening for a Secondary Science Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The position will serve 4th-12th grade students. Our school is in the town of Wishram, WA located in the heart if the renowned Columbia Gorge on the banks of the beautiful Columbia River. It’s a short distance away from The Dalles, OR and Goldendale, WA. The small town of Wishram is rural and an ideal family/recreational setting. The community is very supportive of the school and its staff. Wishram School is staffed with one Superintendent/Principal, 10 certified teachers, and 11 classified staff members. Additional educational staff is provided by Educational Service District 112, Special Services Cooperative. Staff turnover is generally low. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential FunctionsPlan, develop and implement courses of instruction designed to achieve essential learning and exit outcomes.Work cooperatively with administration and staff to develop and implement the instructional program.Provide an effective instructional environment.Maintain appropriate records.Teach the approved curriculum.Keep parents informed through conferences and/or reports of their students' progress.Develop and maintain a flexible, effective classroom learning environment.Work with students, staff, and community patrons in an amicable and productive manner.Provide for the supervision of students in the classroom and on the school premises as required.Work to develop in students a sense of consideration for others and of responsibility for contributing to the benefit of the school.Participate in professional growth opportunities.
