Dog Handler
Santa Monica, CA
THE POSITION:
- Dog Handler is our entry level position and is responsible for managing safe play, walking dogs, and cleaning. There are many opportunities for growth to shift leader, driver, hiker, and front desk.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manage safe play for up to 40 dogs.
- Monitor dogs for health and wellbeing.
- Maintain notes on white boards.
- Walk up to 5 small dogs and 3 large dogs on leash.
- Move dogs around the facility.
- Assist team leads with meal service and dog assessments.
- Cleaning such as washing dishes, sanitizing sleeping areas, mopping, etc.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- At least 1 year work experience work (preferably with animals, at a dog daycare, shelter, etc.).
- Willing to invest time and effort to learn about dog behavior and training techniques.
- Good listening skills and able to follow posted instructions.
- Ability to adhere to safety standards.
- Comfortable around large groups of dogs and various breeds.
- Positive attitude with can-do attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 45lbs and stand for up to 6 hours per shift.
- Driver's License.
- MUST LOVE DOGS.
- Pet care certification preferred, but not required.
