Director of Procurement

Summary:

A leading aerospace manufacturing company is looking for a responsible and goal-oriented Director of Procurement to join their team in Columbus, Mississippi area. As a Director of Procurement, you will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and overseeing activities involved in the identification and acquisition of material for production of company products.

Key Responsibilities of the Director of Procurement:

• Supervises department staff and the daily workflow for the department.
• Have 6 direct reports, 3 quality engineers and 3 inspectors.
• Select suppliers and place purchase orders that provide the highest quality products with a history of on-time delivery and cost savings benefits.
• Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
• Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
• Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.

Key Qualifications of the Director of Procurement:

• Bachelor's Degree in Related Field, Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience being compliant with DFAR, FAR and ITAR regulations.
• Quality experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with an AS9100 accredited company.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Supervisory experience leading a team of buyers and supplier managers.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems.
