Our North American operations, located in Novi, MI, is looking for a company Controller with experience in accounting and finance. The Controller will be responsible for leading and handling all accounting functions of our company. The position, based out of our office in Novi, will include the following responsibilities:

· Maintaining the company’s general ledger of accounts in QuickBooks (Enterprise version)

· Preparing invoices, vendor payments, financial statements, documentation, inventory adjustments, determination and posting of accruals / journal entries.

· Maintaining accounts receivable / accounts payable for all customers and vendors in North America

· Managing new orders for machines and entering the financial aspects of each order into our company accounting software, including the generation of machine order confirmations

· Generating monthly and quarterly reports based on financial information (order intake, actual revenue and costs vs. the company budget, etc).

· Calculating and entering monthly payroll for our employees

· Managing company credit card plan and employee expense reports

· Maintaining company 401K retirement plan

· Year-end closing accounting and finance work in cooperation with our external CPA

· Preparing of tax applications, tax reports in cooperation with our external CPA

· Managing the company’s cash: cash planning, liquidity management, exchange rate hedging

· Reconciling all accounts in our software to ensure accuracy

· Preparing reports for intercompany transactions with our parent company in Germany (receivables and payables)

· Following up on missing payments from customers

· Resolving account discrepancies by investigating and preparing documentation

· Responsibility for the company’s bank accounts and reconciling bank & credit card statements in multiple currencies

· Maintaining internal control systems to ensure accuracy of accounting records in our enterprise accounting software & inventory

· Securing financial information by completing database backups

· Assisting the President of our company with HR items and miscellaneous projects

The ideal candidate will have the following credentials:

· Have proven experience in a similar lead accounting / controlling position, demonstrated with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience

· Be extremely detail oriented. As the lead of our accounting and finances, you must pay strong attention and be able to accurately enter transactions, as others will rely on the financial information you are creating.

· Be a self-starter and a team player who likes to work in a friendly yet very fast-paced environment

· Possess excellent organizational & time management skills

· Be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. You will be working on a handful of projects at the same time.

· Having experience and proficiency in using the accounting software QuickBooks Enterprise and MS Office applications is a must. You will be the lead of our software and will be resolving questions from others when they arise.

· German language skills are beneficial for this position but not required

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
