Job Title: Undergraduate Admissions Counselor

To connect, engage and enroll prospective students to Life University. Undergraduate (UG) Admissions Counselors work with prospective and admitted students for all programs and with others involved in the college selection process to create meaningful connections. They perform various functions to develop relationships with prospective students, to understand their end goal(s), and to aid them in applying, finding their "fit", visiting, earning admission, and enrolling at Life University. They partner with students, colleagues, and other parties to facilitate the swift and smooth movement of applications through the submission, completion, evaluation, admissions, and pre-enrollment process, and they provide personalized coaching and insight related to students' admissibility. They are involved in all aspects of admissions recruitment and counseling, including identifying, attracting, selecting, and enrolling best fit students for Life University.

Responsibilities

* Contribute to enrollment goals through independent and collaborative efforts, prioritizing customer service, technology utilization, teamwork, accuracy, and efficiency.

* Focus on specific prospect populations or applicant types, considering factors like citizenship, geographic territories, and alpha-breaks.

* Engage and communicate with all constituents using various methods, providing information about Life University, the application process, admission guidelines, and counseling for specific programs.

* Respond proactively to calls, texts, emails, and visitors from prospective students, parents, counselors, alumni, and others involved in the college selection process.

* Support the University's vision, mission, academic programs, and student service aspects by attracting and recruiting prospective students through internal and external strategies.

* Counsel and assist individual prospective students throughout the application and enrollment process, ensuring a smooth progression and providing detailed application status information.

* Deliver professional presentations, representing the University at recruitment events, tours, and conferences on and off-campus.

* Maintain and develop college and vendor relationships, actively participate in various recruitment functions, and work towards meeting departmental and institutional enrollment objectives.

* Utilize student information systems and databases, staying up-to-date with current practices for tracking activities, evaluations, recruitment efforts, and more.

* Prepare progress reports for recruiting functions or events, monitor reports related to recruitment and enrollment functions in computer systems.

* Exercise authority to admit or deny students based on specific policies and procedures.

* Collaborate with the enrollment team and regularly communicate with supervisors about activities and outcomes.

* Handle confidential information following FERPA and related policies.

* Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating recruitment functions and programs.

* Manage territories based on data analysis, employing strategic recruitment efforts for high schools within designated territory.

* May take on additional roles or functions as requested by campus and/or enrollment team leadership, receiving appropriate training and support.

Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

* 2 years of customer service experience.

* Ability to work independently with general supervision.

* Effective communication skills in a fast-paced, diverse work environment.

* Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

* Approximately at least 70% travel required, often independently and using various transportation modes.

* Proficiency in using standard office equipment, computer software, and databases.

* Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.

* Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines and budgetary guidelines.

* Computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet software capabilities.

* Valid U.S. Driver's License.

* Availability to work some weekends, mornings, and/or evenings.
