Job Description: Housing Operations Staff Member (Part-Time)Life University is hiring Housing Operations Staff Members to support our students living in on-campus University housing. Together, the Housing Operations Staff provides round-the-clock coverage and assistance for residents. Candidates for this position must be available to work at least 24 hours per week, with availability to work nights and weekends. This is an hourly position, and Housing Operations Staff Members in this position will not reside on campus.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the check in and check out processes for residents.
  • Responsible for checking and documenting the condition of all rooms especially during check in and check out.
  • Must perform Health and Safety inspections both planned and un-planned.
  • Identify and report any maintenance issues, especially emergencies (Flooding, fire, electrical hazards, etc.)
  • Identify and report to the appropriate person(s) any crisis or emergencies that arise (Roommate disputes, Alcohol and other drug use or abuse, resident disagreement, evacuations or shelter in place) and take appropriate action.
  • Manage the “lock out” process including documentation.
  • Identify and report any unauthorized animals in the residence halls (dogs, cats, rabbits, etc.)
  • Assist with any approved disability accommodations.
  • Assist the Housing administrative staff with resident communications (License agreement renewals, Move out dates, consolidation, etc.)
  • Minor maintenance duties such as changing batteries in door locks.
  • Serve in an on-call rotation that observes, addresses, and responds to the needs of the community as outlined by Life University (ex: community desk hours, rounds, duty phone calls, etc.)
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with Life University protocol and procedures
  • Create and maintains positive working relationships with housing partners (ex: Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Campus Safety)
  • Maintain security and ethical use of all passwords, codes, and student information
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in college environment, working with students, staff, and administration.
  • Two years of experience in facilities management and front-line customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must show drive and initiative, and work well in a group. Must exhibit tact and diplomacy, professionalism, and ability to interact with different levels within the organization.
  • Must be extremely well-organized, detail-oriented, creative, flexible, team-oriented and adept at handling several projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to understand and utilize multiple technology platforms.
