 POSITION SUMMARY:

The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor reports to the Director of Admissions & Recruitment. The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor is responsible for maintaining the recruitment of new student inquiries within assigned territories through email, phone and personal outreach. The Counselor will represent Capitol Technology University at college fairs, high school visits and at campus open houses. While preset communication and outreach implements are mandatory, incumbents will be encouraged to bring about creative and individual methods for enhancing those prescribed by the AVP & Director of Admissions.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following are primary duties:

  • Maintain the recruitment of new student inquiries within assigned territories.
  • Communicate with prospective students through multiple communication channels to include in person meetings, CRM, email, text messaging and phone conversations (SKYPE, WHATSAPP, ZOOM, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain activities and initiatives targeting special populations
  • Serve as the social media liaison for the Office of Admissions
  • Assist with admissions operations and special events (May be assigned specific events)
  • Present information and represent Capitol Technology University at virtual, on-and-off campus events
  • Effectively communicate the value of Capitol Technology University and its programs to a diverse population of prospective students
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on all programs and application processes
  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) to track communications, summarize meetings, plan and host events and send targeted email and text messages with inquiries, applicants and admitted students
  • Review applications for acceptance into programs, develop admissions folders, ensure all acceptance requirements are met and included in files, and make scholarship recommendations
  • Frequent evening and weekend work should be expected during the fall and spring recruitment cycles as well as open houses and graduation
  • Required to be capable and develop competency in any areas where responsibilities overlap
  • All other duties assigned by the Director of Admissions & Recruitment

 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Travel is required
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be able to travel
  • Must have a reliable fully insured vehicle capable of handling movements within assigned recruitment territory
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Flexibility, dedication, initiative, confidentiality and the ability to learn
  • 1-2 years of professional or related experience preferred 
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or Jenzabar preferred

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to stand for up to 4 hours, lift up to 25 lbs.
