Position Summary

The Regal Rexnord Couplings team seeks an experienced Production Scheduler II who is looking for a challenge, and who wants to make an impact in a fast-paced, performance driven environment. The Production Scheduler establishes, manages, reviews, and maintains the production schedules for the Outside Processes, Manufacturing, Staging, and Assembly departments. This role ensures effective capacity plans, inventory maintenance, and on time shipments to meet the customer needs. The Production Scheduler also works with and provides direction to the Purchasing team members, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains planning schedules for forecasted and accepted projects.
  • Identifies potential delays and proactively seeks solutions working cross-functionally with appropriate personnel.
  • Hosts daily production meeting with Purchasing, Materials, Manufacturing, and sales to identify challenges and solutions to meet customer order fulfillment dates.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive and expedite planned builds.
  • Identifies alternate solutions to meet customer RK/PK. Reports and escalates potential and existing late customer deliveries.
  • Executes activities related to the management of purchase orders from the intent to purchase through delivery of product, including reconciliation of Purchase Orders, Receipts, and Invoices.
  • Will have responsibility for new supplier add/update forms, Hold all work, expedites and work with the quote department
  • Acts as a connection between the Buyer/Planners and Operations to ensure proper material flow is provided to the ops team to support needed monthly output
  • Provides and researches data for monthly orders to ensure that they will meet the customer's original promise dates and if not, provides new promise dates. New promise dates would be developed through this person gathering data from Ops and Planning and then feedback to the customer care team.
  • Expedite and defer goods and services as required. Works directly with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods. Works with buyer/planners or other stakeholders to expedite material and update the ERP system to reflect accurate delivery dates.
  • Identify and execute inventory optimization initiatives and ensure appropriate levels and accuracy of inventory planning. This includes review and calculation of forecasts, safety stocks, Kanban quantities, order quantities, etc.
  • Review and execute engineering notifications and drawing changes. Interact with cross functional teams, supplier quality, materials management, engineering, accounting/finance and operations.
  • Work with the appropriate commodity manager to utilize strategic sourcing processes to select suppliers based on the best combination of cost, capability, quality, reliability, and delivery. Works with cross-functional teams to execute changes to supply base with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Proactively seek cost reduction opportunities with supplier base.
  • Responsible for timely reporting of agreed upon KPI's, Action Plans, and cost reduction results. Manage assigned Action Plans utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Visit facilities as a team member to conduct supplier assessments with respect to business practices, quality of operations, opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Gather and analyze information and propose alternative solutions. Key contributor in group problem solving situations.
  • Perform any other related duties as directed

Experience and Skill Required

  • A college degree (prefer degrees in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering) or equivalent education and work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a purchasing or supply chain position preferably within a discrete manufacturing environment
  • Positive "can do" attitude, professional demeanor, performance oriented, and strong customer focus.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing tools preferred
  • Previous experience required with and working knowledge of using/reading engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Must have worked with Oracle or other ERP system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced skills with Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 5-10% of the time.
  • Previous experience with assigned commodities is a plus and setting up contracts with suppliers.
  • Ability to manage conflict, solicit feedback to improve service, respond to requests for assistance, and meet commitments.
  • Extremely strong aptitude for analytics pertaining to purchasing, supply chain, and overall business activity.
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
  • Candidate will need to possess strong organizational, analytical and motivational skills along with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven, performance-based environment with stretch goals.
