The Real Estate Development Associate will report directly to the Principals of the firm and manage multiple phases of the real estate development process (e.g., due diligence, approval & permit processing, budgeting, and general contractor management).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in meetings with team professionals, municipalities, neighborhood groups, design teams, and public hearings throughout the entitlement process.
• Participate in the preparation of development budgets and schedules for proposed projects from the initial phases including entitlements, building permit approvals and construction commencement.
• Analyze the construction draw process and the monthly project schedules to determine if projects are on schedule and within the approved budget.
• Assist in the transition of the product from construction to operations.

**Additionally, special projects may be assigned to the Real Estate Development Associate specifically suited to the employee’s interest, experience and qualifications.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Building Construction Management preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in planning, design, construction or project management fields. Experience with and/or demonstrated interest in multi-family or other commercial real estate is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency with project/construction scheduling software, job budgeting/costing software and Excel are strong plusses as well.
