Job Title: Lead Server

Job Summary: Schulson Collective is looking for a Lead Server to work PT and Weekend Brunch Shifts (9am). Lead Servers oversee the service team, interact with hosts, bartenders & all support staff to ensure the restaurant is working efficiently. Must be comfortable training new staff, leading a team in a fast-paced environment & stepping in when co-workers need help. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise Service Staff: Direct and oversee the activities of the service team, including servers, bussers, and hosts/hostesses.
  2. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, answering questions, and resolving any concerns or complaints promptly.
  3. Training: Assist in training new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards.
  4. Order Accuracy: Ensure that all orders are accurately taken and communicated to the kitchen staff, and that food is delivered promptly and correctly to guests.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and management to coordinate service and address any issues or concerns.
  6. Upselling: Encourage guests to try additional menu items or beverages to enhance their dining experience and increase sales.
  7. Cash Handling: Process payments accurately, including cash, credit/debit cards, and gift certificates, and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift.
  8. Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels of supplies, such as utensils, napkins, and condiments, and report any shortages to management.
  9. Shift Management: Open and close the restaurant as needed, ensuring that all opening and closing procedures are followed correctly.

Qualifications:

  1. Previous Experience: At least 3 years of experience working as a server in a restaurant setting, with some experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
  2. Flexibility: MUST have weekend brunch availability - shift starts at 9am
  3. Customer Focus: Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally and maintain a positive attitude.
  4. Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management.
  5. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and motivate team members to provide exceptional service.
  6. Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required for this position. Additional training or certifications in food safety or hospitality management may be beneficial.
