Job Summary:

The Community Education Instructor will help prepare expecting mothers for pregnancy by providing the necessary education and facilitating expectant parents’ mental and physical preparation for pregnancy, labor, birth, and parenthood. This position relies on education, experience, and judgment to execute the class in a professional manner. Creativity and independence are expected to complete the responsibilities of the role. The position will primarily teach classes at an off-site location.

Job Duties:

• Provides instruction based on specified Woman’s Hospital’s class(es) curriculum.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the skills needed to educate clients.
• Responds accurately and appropriately to participant questions and issues.
• Appropriately utilizes education materials and audio/visual learning aids to enhance program effectiveness.
• Gathers and communicates participant feedback to the Community Education Manager.
• Obtains and returns necessary supplies, and equipment in a timely manner. Completes and delivers all paperwork in a timely manner.
• Review curricula and presentations to ensure a knowledge base of content.
• Respond within 24 hours to internal emails and requests from

• Attend external meetings and participate in community events as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree or higher in nursing.
• Current RN license
• At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery or mother-baby experience or a combination of both.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Committed to carrying out Woman’s mission, vision, and values.

• Lactation certification preferred 

Reports to Community Education Manager

Hourly Rate: $45/hour
