Woman Hospital is Hiring a RN - Med-Surg/Oncology - Nights - Part-time Near Baton Rouge, LA

Woman’s Med-Surg/Oncology Unit is a 36-bed unit that cares for adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical needs including but not limited to surgical oncology for gynecologic and breast cancers, complications of cancer therapy, surgical interventions, Bariatric, General and Plastic Surgeries, Infusion therapy and treatment of a variety of other medical and surgical conditions. Our team of doctors, specialists, surgeons, nurses, social workers, dieticians and caregivers are backed by the latest in surgical interventions, research and advanced medical treatments. Woman’s creates a compassionate, supportive, safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families and staff.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required.
  • Current licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing is required.
  • Experience and/or certification in the area preferred.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assesses, monitors and evaluates patient status by observing the patient, noting data collected by other team members and analyzing this information to independently develop a plan of nursing care.
  • Develops a detailed plan of care, which includes patient / family education, based on initial and on-going assessment findings to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Communicates with patients, families, subordinate staff and peers to ensure that plans and associated interventions are understood, operationalized and revised, as appropriate to the patient’s age, culture, condition, and unique needs/circumstances.
  • Evaluates patient response to treatment and nursing interventions and if needed, revises the plan of care.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
  • Direct/coordinate nursing care in accordance with professional nursing practice standards.
  • Performs other duties assigned by Department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

Hours: 

Nights; 7pm-7am

Pay Range:

$27.72 - $44.35
