Fremont county school district 25 is Hiring a Title I Specialist Near Riverton, WY

 This is a part-time position. Approximately 20 hours per week.

Title I Specialist

Qualifications:

  1. Possess current PTSB endorsement as an Elementary Teacher
  2. Master’s Degree in Education or National Board Certified, preferred
  3. Three or more years of teaching experience, preference given to candidates with intervention and/or Title I experience
  4. Experience and background in working with families of poverty to increase studentacademic achievement preferred

Reports to: Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent

Supervises: Instructional Paraprofessionals as assigned by building principal
Job Goal: Increase the academic performance of students in Title I schools through:
coordination of parent training programs and parent outreach, after school and summer intervention programs, and regular intervention for Title I schools’ most at-risk students.

Performance Responsibilities:

  •  Provide training and support to the building staff in research based academic and poverty related instructional strategies to increase academic achievement.
  •  Assist and support staff (principals, classroom teachers, special education teachers and instructional assistants) in providing effective instruction and improving student achievement
  •  Assist with scheduling of interventions during the school day, after school and during the summer.
  • Instruct small groups of students or individual students who are considered at-risk of failing without supplemental instruction.
  •  Continuously monitor the progress of students served through Title I and be an advocate for continued support and services as needed.
  •  Provide assistance and professional learning for staff in data collection, data analysis, and how to adjust and accommodate instruction based on data
  • Provide parent outreach, training and support to help increase parent capacity to support academic achievement with their children.
  •  Assists and/or coordinates the implementation and interpretation of a comprehensive needs assessment with Title I Committee
  • Coordinate with the building principal, completion of a comprehensive needs assessment every 5 years.
  • Supports and guides paraprofessionals in their daily duties and provides feedback to the building principal regarding their work performance.
  • Facilitate the annual review, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Title I Schoolwide Plan.
  • Assist in the allocation of school Title I funds, resources, and supplementary materials to support classroom instruction.
  •  Understand and ensure compliance with Title I Rules and Regulations.
  • Submit evidence of Title I requirements in a timely manner.
  • Work with community based programs (community preschools if applicable) to coordinate services for Title I students and their families.
  • Attend and lead appropriate ESEA/Title I Committee related meetings at district and school site
  • Understand and ensure compliance with current ESEA guidelines
  • Assists with the development and distribution of Parent Involvement Policy and ParentSchool Compact
  • Performs such other tasks and duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director
