The Pathology Specialist should consistently utilize excellent customer service skills to both internal and external customers at all times. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) or equivalent categorical certification preferred Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics (CLSp(CG)) certification within three (3) years of employment in position (applies to Cytogenetics Lab only) Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience utilizing laboratory principles, procedures and technical skills Experience PREFERRED: N/A Education/training REQUIRED: Minimum of a Bachelors of Science Degree in a Life Science from an accredited program* *unless candidate possesses a Ph.D. in a related field or foreign trained MD Education/training PREFERRED: Master's of Science Degree in Life Science from an accredited program Independent action(s) required: Performance of procedures, evaluation and reporting of results as outlined in the manual of standard operating procedures.
