Job Title: Sales Representative
Work Location: Remote – Reports into In Grown Farms Cultivation Center - Freeport, IL
Division/Department: Sales
Reports to: Sales Manager

As Acreage Holding’s Illinois Sales Representative, you are responsible for sales opportunities, building and setting up new relationships with our client’s dispensaries and promoting our products to ultimately generate sales and increase our brand awareness .

The Sales Representative will be working to increase the company’s market share, with responsibility for developing and maintaining customer relationships, in dispensary merchandising, and promotional initiatives. You will be responsible for creating a plan that aligns with our strategic vision, ensures account needs are addressed, promotes our branded solutions and leads to goal achievement. The ideal candidate will reside in the greater Chicago area.

Travel Required (75% of time): The Sales Representative is responsible for servicing clients throughout the state of IL. You will be required to travel 75% of the time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategically set and achieve sales goals as directed by the IL Wholesale Manager through sales and merchandising objectives.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of cannabis, Acreage’s brands and product lines, along with competitors’ products in the market.
  • Educate, engage, and train all customers on our Acreage brands and product lines and sell through a product mix or portfolio of goods customized for the retail location and their customer.
  • Maintain an awareness of market behavior, knowledge of all aspects of the industry and sales trends, the competition and ability to communicate and drive a successful sales model that responds, accordingly.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, able to collect and share information regarding your clients and track all activity, orders, etc. as it pertains to each customer/retailer.
  • Attend trade shows and other industry events to stay up with market trends and promote company products.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and business partners to effectively evaluate, set, and exceed their needs.
  • Identify sales forecasts, highlighting gaps and opportunities.
  • Develop and track wholesaler & retailer goals for visibility, distribution, promotions, pricing, shelf management and quality measures.
  • Ability to travel across the state to engage with customers to their satisfaction and needs.
  • Additional duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales and customer service experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Skills: Persuasive selling, problem solving; planning/organizing; proficiency in MS office; financial acumen; excellent written and verbal communication; excellent negotiator; exhibits independence, resiliency and tenacity.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Successful track record in driving results, motivating teams and cross functional partnership.
  • Ability to successfully navigate complex and changing business environments.
  • Process oriented. Understands and applies interdependencies across functions.
  • Experience in a sales role in health care or in the legal cannabis industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of the medical cannabis industry in Illinois preferred but not required.
  • Must be physically capable of driving to customers within and outside of assigned sale territory as needed.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting, moving, loading and unloading sales and marketing materials as needed.
  • Must be physically able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach and lift in the performance of the job .
