Position Title: Inside Sales Representative Exempt Status: Non Exempt Accountable To: Customer Service Supervisor Job Summary: The inside sales representative will be responsible for developing new leads, communicating with customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring a smooth sales process. You should be able to close sales and meet targets. To be successful as an inside sales representative you should be able to build instant rapport, have knowledge of the food industry, and achieve customer satisfaction. A top inside sales representative should also be very competitive and a good listener. Duties/Responsibilities: Develop and continuously improve product knowledgeStay up to date with product and service information and updates. Be empathetic with customers and team membersCommunicate promptly and effectively. Build relationships with potential and existing customersUnderstand customers' needs and identify sales opportunities. Upsell products and services. Collaborate directly with assigned retail sales DSR’s Required Skills / Abilities: Proven experience in sales, account management, or customer support.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team and across different departments.Effective Time Management skillsActive Listening Skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Prompt Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Excellent phone and cold calling skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Strong listening and sales skills. Ability to set goals & achieve targets. Education & Experience: Proven experience in sales, account management, or customer support.High School Diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in an outbound call center or a related sales position preferred. Previous experience in a retail or restaurant food service or related position preferredThe ideal candidate will be well-versed in the food service distribution business and associated terminology in all aspects of food distribution marketing, procurement, and logistics. However, consideration will be given to candidates who have experience with business analysis, business intelligence, and food marketing. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for those who can perform the job's essential duties.
