The Office of Medical Alumni Relations and the affiliated Stanford Medicine Alumni Association’s mission is to Reach, Inspire, Serve and Engage, MD, PHD, MS, BS, resident, fellows, and post-doctoral alumni (25,000 strong) through engaging outreach events and programming; alumni mentoring and sponsorship programs; meaningful volunteer opportunities for alumni; and the dissemination of informative communications.
Job Purpose
The Director of Medical Alumni Relations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a comprehensive alumni program. S/he is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of programs and services to enhance long-term relationships between and among the school’s alumni, students, faculty, the broader community. The Director works closely to align strategic objectives with the Office of the Dean of the School of Medicine, Senior Associate Deans for Medical and Bioscience Education, and the Directors of the 6 other schools within Stanford University, in collaboration with the Chief Alumni Relations Officer of the Stanford Alumni Association.
Key activities include campus and regional events, student/alumni programs, alumni communications, alumni digital initiatives including website and social media programs, alumni affinity groups, sponsorships, cross-department collaborations, and several high-profile annual alumni events, including the medical school’s Alumni Day, Women in Medicine and Science Conference, and lifetime achievement Alumni Awards. The Director oversees a small team of direct reports and an independent budget for alumni activities.
The Director also serves ex-officio as the Executive Director of the Stanford Medicine Alumni Association and its 30 elected Board of Governors working weekly with the President to guide alumni strategy and interface with senior university personnel.

Working Conditions
The expected pay range for this position is $144,000 to $183,000 per annum.
