Sales Counselor

This position is a key role for our senior living community. It provides back up sales and support to the Sales Counseling Director, move in coordination for new residents, and helps support outreach efforts to the greater community area. This role and opportunity could be deeply satisfying both personally and professionally. Prior experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Job Description –

We are seeking a self-starter that is motivated to make a difference in the lives of seniors that we serve. This role is critical to occupancy growth and business development. The focus of this position is to support the sales counseling director and work together to increase occupancy by nurturing leads, influencing prospects, and moving them through the sales pipeline to become a resident. This position will also be key in increasing the outreach and business development program for the community.

Critical objectives

o Increase occupancy month over month through effective sales strategies and implementing our sales training.

o Build and maintain strong relationships with professional referral sources. Identify opportunities for partnerships with others in the senior healthcare realm.

o Plan and execute creative and well attended networking functions. As well as events for prospects to experience life in our community.

Essential Job functions

o Aid and support to the sales director by contacting leads, conducting tours, discovering prospect needs, following up with prospects, closing sales, and coordinating new move ins.

o Increase area awareness, professional relationships, increase networking opportunities, and represent the community in the target market area.

o Manage leads by utilizing the CRM. Daily maintenance of the CRM for both prospects and professional referral sources is expected.

Education and experience

o Solid experience in sales is a must. There will be a strong preference for candidates that have senior living experience.

o Business development and outreach experience is desirable in a candidate. If that experience is in the general market area, it is even better.

o Communication and interpersonal skills are a must. That includes listening skills. It is vital that we listen and learn about each of our prospects in order to meet their needs appropriately.

o Strategic, creative, and critical thinking is a plus for this candidate. Quickly identifying opportunities, solving problems, and offering solutions is part of the job.

o Proven track record of setting, achieving, and exceeding sales goals is crucial. Yet having a resilient mind set for any set back is needed.
