The Miami Corporation is Hiring a HR Coordinator Near Cincinnati, OH

Maimi Corporation, an employee owned, automotive and marine textile distributor is looking for a full-time HR Coordinator to join our Cincinnati, OH team.

The Human Resources Coordinator ensures the workforce and management team are properly supported with accountability for policy and program administration, staffing, and implementation of employee satisfaction and engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a HR liaison to the workforce and assists in coordinating answers for HR-related inquiries related to benefits, employment policies, or other matters.
  • Explains insurance programs to employees and serves as a primary point of contact and liaison with benefit providers.
  • Serves as a point of contact for managers on addressing employee complaints and matters related to performance, attendance, leave requests, and other issues that may impact a person’s employment.
  • Assists with implementing human resource related initiatives. Areas of focus include workforce planning, employee attraction and retention, organizational readiness, and succession planning.
  • Assists with remaining compliant with federal and state employment laws and regulations; helps coordinate audits and leverage third party advisors to mitigate risk.
  • Facilitates the administration of organizational surveys and monitors employee engagement and satisfaction levels.
  • Coordinates employee educational training days for the workforce. Tracks and monitors upcoming training for employees in HRIS system.
  • Executes recruiting processes including sourcing, candidate qualification and testing, candidate interviews, reference verifications and background investigations.
  • Ensures new employees are effectively onboarded into the company per new hire procedures and guidelines.
  • Coordinates annual open enrollment and assists with gathering census information and other necessary documents.
  • Processes workers’ compensation claims and coordinates transitional duty assignments. Completes First Reports of Injury (FROI) and coordinates post incident drug tests, incident investigations, and the transmittal of information to the company’s MCO and TPA.
  • Maintains the HRIS module in the organization’s payroll platform. Ensures the integrity of the data and works with the company’s payroll provider to enhance user experiences.
  • Assists in maintaining all employee personnel files, payroll records, training records, performance evaluations, medical records, and all other pertinent documents and data as necessary, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Serves as a backup for payroll processing and assists accounting with addressing timecard exceptions, following up with questions and resolving payroll related issues.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration/human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • SHRM-CP credential preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
