Public Health Specialists in the Bureau of Community Environmental Health and Food Protection (BCEHFP) enforce the provisions of New York State's Public Health Law and other State and federals laws, rules, and regulations relating to community environmental health and safety. The BCEHFP develops environmental health regulations and associated program guidance to ensure that core environmental health program standards are achieved. The incumbent of this position will assist in the implementation and monitoring of public health programs; provide direction, oversight, technical assistance, and training to local health departments; monitor program activities and progress towards contract deliverables; and prepare reports and correspondence. Positions may be filled in the following program areas: Housing Hygiene, Food Protection, Recreational Environmental Health, Tobacco Enforcement, or Program Standardization, Evaluation, and Reporting.
