ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
2. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed.
3. Verifies business transaction amounts to original source documents as required.
4. Analyzes and reconciles general ledger accounts as required.
5. Recommends and prepares journal entries in the general ledger, to assure accuracy and compliance with the established rules and principles of general and cost accounting.
6. Assists in the preparation of financial and statistical reports as required.
7. Assists in the preparation for financial and/or tax audits.
8. Assists in the preparation and/or review of company tax returns.
9. Files supporting documentation, reports, etc. of business transactions as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma required, associate degree in accounting or related field or equivalent preferred.
Strongly prefer at least two years practical experience in bookkeeping along with typing and data entry skills and computer experience.
