The MERS and Chain of Title Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the MERS portfolio and assist with Chain of Title exceptions and validation. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily/weekly/monthly MERS reports.
  • These include various reject and warning reports.
  • Work to clear exceptions identified on reports.
• Validate MIN level transactions with the MERS system (payoff, default, etc.).
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing MERS transfers through the TOS/TOB process.
• Assist with the review of monthly data reconciliation via the mintrak2 system.
• Perform loan/MIN level research to correct data discrepancies and identify potential root causes.
• Prepare reporting (excel) for delivery to sub-servicing clients.
• Coordinate data corrections with sub-servicing clients and internal partners.
• Assist with both internal and external MERS audits.

Chain of Title

• Work with external title vendor to complete ongoing assignment requests related to Default and Service Transfer activities.
• Maintain a queue of assignment requests within the Default platform, Black Knight Loan Sphere.
• Serves as a point of contact to communicate and resolve common issues related to account assignment chains with Default Team and other departments.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School degree or GED
• Familiarity with MERS Online (preferred, not required)
• Experience within the mortgage industry, specifically MERS or title curative (preferred, not required)
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Detail and results oriented
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Able to work accurately in a fast paced environment
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
