The Center for Health Care Services is Hiring a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) Near San Antonio, TX

*Specific Program Descriptions:*
_*DETOX: *_The Residential Detoxification Unit (Detox) is a licensed, accredited\* 28-bed facility offering medical oversight and recovery support for people withdrawing from addictive substances. Residencies are typically 3-7 days but will vary depending on an individual client’s symptoms. Detox aims to help residents complete a safe withdrawal from substance use, encourage continual substance use treatment, and motivate and empower clients to develop a healthy recovery lifestyle.
*Opioid Addiction Treatment Services (OATS): *OATS is a medication assisted treatment program (MAT) for clients dealing with Opioid use disorder. The program offers adult consumers treatment with either methadone or Suboxone and all clients receive both medication and counseling services as part of their treatment. OATS works as a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centered care assisting consumers on their recovery journey. The program links consumers to internal and external services/resources and assists with crisis intervention and resolution when needed.
*GENERAL SUMMARY*
The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) works within a multidisciplinary team to provide direct (face-to-face) and indirect services to consumers in a person-centered, trauma informed, and individualized approach utilizing evidence-based practices delivered to fidelity. The LCDC completes collaborative documentation with the client in accordance with State and agency program policies. Individuals served may have multi-system involvement such as Criminal Justice, Child and Adult Welfare, Veterans, Residential instability, etc.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

* Develops treatment plans, including measurable goals and objectives, and completes review for progress.
* Facilitates psycho-education classes, group therapy, support groups, and individual counseling.
* Inputs clinical documentation into Clinical Management for Behavioral Health Services (CMBHS) in a timely manner for all services rendered with or on behalf of clients.
* Links and refers consumers presenting to clinic to appropriate services.
* Performs biopsychosocial intakes and assessments, and explores diagnoses with course of treatment.
* Screens for substance abuse, including physical and mental health status.
* Performs other related duties as required.
*MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS*
*Education and Experience*
* Associate’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field from an accredited university *or*,
* High School diploma and 2 years of related experience *or*,
* High School diploma and a current Texas licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in good standing.
* One (1) year of experience working with consumers diagnosed with substance abuse, mental health, or dual diagnosis.
*Licenses or Certifications*
* Current Texas licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in good standing
*Other Requirements*
* Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Company’s auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business.
* Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all State regulations and CHCS policies.
* Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) and CPR training including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance.
* Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) is a proven safe and harm-free method of behavior modification. All consumer-facing employees of CHCS must take NCI courses facilitated by the CHCS Training team within the first 45 days of employment.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a behavioral science.
* Minimum of one (1) year of full-time work experience in the social services or substance abuse services.
* Professional experience working with consumers diagnosed with substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders.
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Language Proficiency Pay (LPP) payments are subject to successful testing, certification by CHCS Payroll, and availability of funding. Funding may be renewed in subsequent fiscal years but is not guaranteed.
*SUPERVISION *
* Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.
