Near North Health, a longstanding pillar of Chicago's healthcare landscape, is seeking a visionary and compassionate Director of Operations to join our dedicated team. Since our inception in 1966, we have remained committed to our mission of providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality primary healthcare services to all, regardless of their financial circumstances.

As Director of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to serve primarily low-income uninsured or underinsured residents of Chicago's medically underserved communities. Your expertise in overseeing the operational, financial, and strategic aspects of our health centers by ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient, patient-centered care, will further solidify our position as one of the largest providers of community-based primary care in the city.


Key Responsibilities
:

  • Leadership and Strategic Direction: Lead and guide health center staff towards achieving organizational objectives, promoting a team-oriented approach to healthcare delivery. Act as a role model in embodying the mission and values of Near North Health, fostering an environment of collaboration and excellence. Works collaboratively with Executive Leadership Team, Directors, Managers and Supervisors of the organization. Understands the need to integrate disciplines across the organization to maximize the patient experience and create efficiencies of patient/family centric care.

  • Quality Assurance and Productivity:
    Working collaboratively with management and department leads, monitor and ensure quality care, productivity, optimal patient experience, and adherence to regulatory standards. Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest level of care and service delivery.

  • Operational Efficiency and Continuous Improvement:
    Promotes high standards through development and standardization of policies and procedures and fiscalmanagement. Implement and refine operational processes and procedures, focusing on efficiency, staff development, and the achievement of performance metrics. Ensure referrals and medical records are processed accurately and within turnaround time standards. Champion innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
  • Patient Experience: Oversee the Patient Experience Department, ensuring the highest standards of patient satisfaction across all Near North Health services. This responsibility includes monitoring patient satisfaction through surveys, operational rounds, and the patient grievance process, alongside analyzing call center data to identify and address root causes of dissatisfaction. The Director will develop and implement corrective action plans, fostering continuous improvement and collaboration across departments to enhance the overall patient experience.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree considered with extensive healthcare management experience.
Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing operations within a healthcare setting, FQHC experience highly valued.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and drive improvements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices, with a history of ensuring compliance and excellence in care delivery.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
