Near North Health, a longstanding pillar of Chicago's healthcare landscape, is seeking a visionary and compassionate Community Clinical Dietitian to join our dedicated team. Since our inception in 1966, we have remained committed to our mission of providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality primary healthcare services to all, regardless of their financial circumstances. 

As Community Clinical Dietitian, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to serve primarily low-income uninsured or underinsured residents of Chicago's medically underserved communities. Your expertise in providing dietary services to the community will further solidify our position as one of the largest providers of community-based primary care in the city. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Provides medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical treatment goals and desired outcomes.
2. Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using established standards of care and evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines.
3. Develops, reviews, updates and implements educational materials to meet the needs of the population served.
4. Conducts or participates in in-service education, internal and external health fairs, outreach, and community events. Actively and constructively participates in service area to support and contribute to the goals and vision of NNH
5. Oversees dietetic intern experience and projects. Completes evaluation of interns at the end of their rotation.
6. Develops, reviews, updates and implements educational materials to meet the needs of diabetic patients and professionals.

Qualifications

Education: Must have a Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a dietetic internship approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Two years’ experience as a clinical dietitian preferred. Must have thorough knowledge of nutrition, medical nutrition therapy and diabetes management. Bi-lingual; English/Spanish preferred. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and public health knowledge desired.

Licensure: Must be Registered Dietitian (RD) and licensed to practice (LDN) by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation-Division of Professional Regulation.
