Desktop Support Specialist
Department: IT
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Plano HQ
The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the Microsoft Windows desktop, laptops, tablets, and associated peripherals, including AV equipment. The Desktop Support Specialist will work closely with other members of the technology department to support all end users.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows desktop and laptop computers.
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot mobile phones and tablets.
  • Install and configure the software.
  • Set up and configure printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment.
  • Document issue resolution using the help desk ticketing system.
  • Maintain inventory of all hardware and software resources and parts.
  • Maintain excellent communication with all end users and other members of the technology department.
  • Provide functional support for software used by the company, including but not limited to Microsoft, Google, AboutTime, Bluebeam, Sage, Procore, and Coupa applications.
  • Execute other related tasks as directed.
Requirements:
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry best practices and procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience
  • 2 years of setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop/notebook hardware and software.
  • Windows desktops and laptops, Android, and iOS devices, in a networked environment.
  • Microsoft Office Apps
  • Google Workspace Apps, Google Cloud, and Google Meet
  • Some knowledge of TCP/IP networking, and related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.)
  • Some knowledge of Active Directory concepts and administration.
  • Ability to climb a ladder to service equipment and run cables.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting remote users.
  • Experience in Windows Server administration.
  • Experience in Google Workspace administration.
  • Experience supporting a variety of wired and wireless network devices.
